Business Days Calculator

A business day is traditionally a weekday – Monday through Friday – that is not a public holiday or other non‑working day. This calculator lets you define your own non‑working days (any combination of weekdays as "weekend" and any date as a custom holiday) to match your region, company, or project calendar.

Select the Between Dates mode, pick your start and end dates, and the tool instantly counts the days that are neither weekends nor custom holidays. You can also choose whether to include the start date and end date in the total. The result shows the exact number of business days, plus a breakdown of what was excluded.

Yes – use the Custom Holidays section. Click + Add Holiday and pick any date. That day will be treated as a non‑working day, even if it falls on a weekday. You can add as many as you need, and remove them individually. Holidays that happen to land on a weekend are counted as weekend days, not as additional holiday exclusions.

Switch to the Add Days or Subtract Days mode. Enter your start date and the number of business days you want to move. The tool will skip weekends and custom holidays as it steps forward or backward, showing you the final date and a summary of all the days it skipped along the way.

Yes. By default, Saturday and Sunday are treated as weekends and are excluded from business day counts. You can change this in the Weekend days checkboxes – for example, uncheck Sunday if your workweek includes Sundays, or add Friday if you follow a Friday‑Saturday weekend.

The tool checks that the start date is not after the end date. If it is, you’ll see an error message and no result will be shown until you correct the order.

Yes. The checkboxes Include start date and Include end date let you decide whether the boundary dates are part of the range. By default, both are included. Unchecking one excludes that date from the total (for example, to count only the full working days between two dates).

Calendar days are all days in a date range (including weekends and holidays). Business days are only the days you consider working days – weekdays that are not holidays, based on your weekend and custom holiday settings. The calculator shows both numbers so you can see the full picture.

When a custom holiday falls on a day that is already a weekend, it is counted once in the Weekends Excluded total and not in Holidays Excluded. The tool avoids double‑counting to give you an accurate breakdown.
