Image Resizer

Resize images to pixel dimensions or a percentage, apply presets, and export as JPEG, PNG, or WebP.

Updated

What is the Image Resizer?

Resize images to fit a specific layout, reduce their dimensions, or prepare several files at once. Add JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, or BMP images up to 50 MB each, then set dimensions directly, choose a percentage, or start from a preset.

The tool processes images in your browser; it does not upload them to a server. Choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP for the output, adjust quality where available, and preview the resulting dimensions and file size before downloading.

The output file size depends on the image, dimensions, format, and quality setting. This tool does not guarantee an exact file size.

How it works

  1. Add images — Drop files into the upload area or browse your device. JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP are supported; each file can be up to 50 MB.
  2. Choose how to resize — Use Fit within to keep the image inside the dimensions you enter, Exact size to set width and height, or Percentage to scale from the original size. Unlock the aspect ratio only if you want to stretch the image.
  3. Set the output — Enter dimensions or choose a preset, then select JPEG, PNG, or WebP. JPEG and WebP quality settings affect both the appearance and file size.
  4. Resize and download — Click Resize to see the new dimensions and file size, then download the result. The same settings are applied to each selected image.

You can adjust dimensions and quality to get closer to a file-size limit, but the result depends on the image and format. There is no control that guarantees an exact size in KB or MB. Resizing changes image dimensions; JPEG and WebP may also reduce visual detail, while PNG stores the resized result losslessly.

Examples

Reduce a photo for an upload limit

Adjust the dimensions and quality, then check the resulting file size against an online form's limit.

2MB JPEG photo (3000x2000px)

48KB JPEG image (800x533px)

Fit images within a preset

Resize landscape images to fit within the preset dimensions while keeping their original proportions.

5 landscape photos (4000x3000px)

5 images (1080x810px)

Reduce a banner's dimensions and file size

Resize a banner for web use and review its new dimensions and file size before downloading.

3.5MB PNG banner (2500x1000px)

850KB WebP banner (1920x768px)

Frequently asked questions

Can I resize an image to an exact file size?

The tool does not target an exact size in KB or MB. You can adjust the dimensions, output format, and quality, then check the resulting file size. The final size depends on the image and settings.

Which image formats are supported?

You can add JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP files up to 50 MB each. Resized images can be exported as JPEG, PNG, or WebP.

Will resizing reduce image quality?

Changing an image's dimensions requires resampling its pixels. JPEG and WebP can also lose detail during compression; PNG uses lossless encoding for the resized result. Keep a copy of the original if you may need it later.

Can I resize multiple images at once?

Yes. Add multiple images and the tool applies the selected settings to each one. The files are processed one at a time in your browser, and you can download the results individually.

Will the tool keep the original proportions?

The aspect-ratio lock is on by default for Exact size. Fit within always keeps the proportions, while Percentage scales both dimensions together. If you turn off the lock in Exact size, the image can be stretched.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The tool processes the image files in your browser and does not upload them to a server. Very large batches may take longer or use more memory, depending on your device.
