The Numerology Calculator works by converting your birth date and the letters of your name into single-digit numbers using established numerological algorithms.

1. Digit Reduction

The core mathematical principle of numerology is digit reduction. Any multi-digit number is reduced by adding its constituent digits together until a single digit (1-9) is reached.

• Example: The year $1995$ becomes $1 + 9 + 9 + 5 = 24$. Then, $2 + 4 = 6$.
• Exceptions: If the sum equals 11, 22, or 33, these are considered Master Numbers and are traditionally not reduced further.

2. Life Path Methodologies

There are three main ways to calculate the Life Path number from a birth date, and this calculator supports them all:

• Cyclic Period (Standard): Reduces the Month, Day, and Year to single digits individually, then adds those three digits together. (e.g., Nov 22, 1995 -> 2 + 22 + 6 = 30 -> 3).
• Linear Digit Sweep: Adds every single digit in the date straight across. (e.g., 1+1+2+2+1+9+9+5 = 30 -> 3).
• Full Number Addition: Adds the raw values of the Month, Day, and Year together. (e.g., 11 + 22 + 1995 = 2028 -> 2+0+2+8 = 12 -> 3).

3. Alpha-Gematria (Name to Number Conversion)

To analyze your name, the calculator assigns a numerical value to each letter based on the system you choose:

• Pythagorean System: Maps the alphabet sequentially from 1 to 9 ($A=1, B=2 ... I=9, J=1$, etc.).
• Chaldean System: An older mystical system that assigns numbers 1 through 8 based on the vibrational frequency of the letter, not strict alphabetical order ($A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, U=6, O=7, F=8$, etc.). The number 9 is considered sacred and is omitted from the initial letter mapping.

4. Vowels vs. Consonants

Your name's total sum equals your Expression (Destiny) Number. However, the calculator also splits the letters:

• Vowels Only ($A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes Y$): Generate your Soul Urge Number.
• Consonants Only: Generate your Personality Number. (Note: The tool includes a toggle to intelligently treat "Y" as a vowel when it acts as the primary sounding vowel in a syllable).
