How it works

This QR code generator processes your data entirely on your device using standard QR encoding algorithms. Here is a breakdown of how it works:

  1. Data Encoding: The input text or URL is encoded into byte mode. The tool automatically selects the smallest QR version (Version 1 to 5) that can accommodate your data based on the chosen error correction level.
  2. Error Correction: Using Reed-Solomon error correction, the tool adds redundant data to your QR code. This ensures that even if the code is partially damaged or obscured, it can still be scanned successfully. You can choose from four levels: L (Low, 7%), M (Medium, 15%), Q (Quartile, 25%), and H (High, 30%).
  3. Matrix Placement & Masking: The encoded data bits are placed into a 2D matrix along with functional patterns (finder, alignment, and timing patterns). The tool evaluates 8 different mask patterns and automatically applies the one that minimizes visual complexity, ensuring optimal scannability.
  4. Rendering & Export: The final matrix is rendered as an SVG path, allowing for infinite scalability without quality loss. For PNG exports, the SVG is drawn onto a canvas at your specified resolution, supporting transparent backgrounds if desired.
